In reading part 2 of the trilogy..you get the feeling that the end of the war will be the same..but by a different path.

Rating: - Fantastic second installment solidifies trilogy (4.5 stars)
Grant Comes East picks off where Gringich and Forsythe's first installment (Gettsyburgh) left off. In this alternative version of the Civil War, The Army of the Potomac has been decimated at Union Mills (an alterntate battle to the third day at Getysburgh) and Grant has come East to take control of the Union forces. Other than that a lot happens but it's better to go into this book not knowing anything else. The authors create a plausible and often brilliant alternative history.

Nothing written by Newt Gingrich could possibly be any good. I have word that Kenneth Starr has an upcoming historical novel about the Dahlgren-Kilpatrick Raid.
