Customer Reviews and Description Like many people, I listened to this book because of the extreme hype. I thought that with so many people reading it and so many weeks on the best-seller lists, it must be good. I was wrong.

Customer Reviews and Description I enjoyed this book much more than I did the previous installment (or letter) because it indicated a return to a good old dark-hearted murder, the kind of crime I enjoy working on with Kinsey, instead of industrial espionage or the like. Kinsey's familiar voice and attitude are consistent and in tact, so I don't agree with the other reviewers that wanted more of "her life" included. There wasn't time. Kinsey explains at the very beginning that she didn't want to exploit Daisy and would only work for a week. ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description I first became a P.D. James fan when I read The Murder Room, also an Adam Dalgliesh mystery. Afterwards, I read every other Adam Dalgliesh mystery. The Lighthouse is similar to many of her other works. It begins a short time before the murder, giving the point of view of each of the characters involved. The death here, as in so many of James's other books, is elaborate, and the murderer isn't discovered until the very end. However, this book is different; there's an unexpected (and perhaps outlandish) twist in the ... Read MoreRead Reviews and Description

Customer Reviews and Description As an avid fan of theHarry Bosch series, I began this book with a bit of trepidation. At best, I was being forced to wait another year for a Bosch novel; at worst, Connelly's just decided to change genres for good. I quickly found out that Bosch is just taking a rest, and I couldn't be happier for giving this book a shot.

Customer Reviews and Description I really wanted to like this book, but it's obvious Ms. Kostova is suffering from inexperience. The writing itself is wonderful, as is her eye for detail and location. However, the plot is clunky and told in a way that screams amateur. Her "hooks," the places where she tries to get you to continue reading on, are weak and at times just stupid. I was really surprised at how someone with such an incredible grasp of style and technique has not learned the most important thing of all: how to tell a story.

Customer Reviews and Description It is not right-wing versus left-wing, it is just pure anti-american. I threw the hardcover in the trash can at my gym because I couldn't stand another page of the sentiment that America has gotten what it deserves. Don't bother!!

Customer Reviews and Description I loved this book. I couldn't put it down. Lots of twist & turns. I liked it more than "The DaVinci Code". I read the book after a trip to the Vatican, and I try to reach back into my mind and look for specific landmarks. Great book.

Customer Reviews and Description I stopped reading Cornwell's books a couple of years ago when she started emphasing homosexuallity so much in the niece of Kay Scarpetta. Then thought that I'd try again because I did enjoy the Scarpetta mystery series if not for that. Was terribly disappointed with this book. Won't waste my money on any of her books from now on. She's lost a good customer. There are too many other good writers out there. What has happened to her??

Customer Reviews and Description The book, 'The Da Vinci Code', is without a doubt one of the best books I have read all year. It is the story of the murder of a French man named Jaques Sauniere who held a great secret. As death approached, he is forced to transfer his secret through puzzles set across Europe that only one person can understand. This person, Sophie Neveu, works together with Robert Langdon, and American symbologist from Harvard to discover the origins of an ancient Pagan cult and the secret that they hold.
